"Last Thursday Stowe Rotary welcomed Wendy Knight, commissioner of the Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, who shared her vision and goals for bringing more visitors to the state at the Town & Country Resort in Stowe.  Knight also talked about the challenges Vermont faces in growing its tourism market share. New York invests $50 million in tourism marketing, Maine $15 million, and New Hampshire invests $8 million.  Vermont’s tourism marketing budget is $3.1 million."

 

"Mary Powell, president and CEO of Green Mountain Power, spoke to the Rotary Club of Stowe last week.  Powell has been nationally recognized as an energy visionary, positioning Green Mountain Power as a leading energy transformation company.  Powell talked about her background, her vision for Vermont’s largest electric utility, and her thoughts on the future of energy both in terms of generation and delivery."

 

"The Stowe Rotary Club has presented $500 to Morrisville’s “Under the Wings” backpack program.  This program purchases backpacks and school supplies for students in need in both Stowe and Morrisville, and this particular donation is expected to assist at least 18 students in Stowe."
