This will mark the second fall in a row without the Stowe Rotary Club’s Oktoberfest fundraiser, which for over twenty years served as the Club’s main vehicle for raising money for scholarships and local charities. Without Oktoberfest, the Club has been challenged with finding a replacement event that generates both the charitable funds needed to fulfill the Club’s mission and captures the spirit of community that the Club embodies. So, this fall Stowe Rotary is launching the “Key to the Village” raffle and “Jeans Welcome, Black Tie Optional” party.
“The Key to the Village,” explains Club President Phil Bongiorno, “is about celebrating the best our community has to offer, so we can bring out the best in our community.” The raffle winner will receive the “Key to the Village package that includes all of the following:
  • 2019-20 Stowe Epic Ski Pass
  • 2020 Stowe Country Club Golf Membership
  • 2020 Swimming Hole Annual Membership plus fitness package including:
    • 5 x One Hour Personal Training Sessions
    • 5 x 30 minute Private Swim Lessons
    • 5 x Adult day Passes so you can bring a friend
  • Fine Dining Package -- $500 worth of gift certificates to the best dining experiences in Stowe.
  • Cash -- $500 for spending spree at your favorite Stowe shops.
Tickets are $50.00 each with a total of only 400 tickets to be sold.
Key to the Village raffle tickets can be purchased through Rotary Club members, or online at
In addition to a chance to win the Key to the Village, all ticket buyers are invited to the “Jeans Welcome, Black Tie Optional” Rotary Party on November 9th at Idletyme Brewing Company, 6-9 pm.
“The party is not a fundraiser,” says Bongiorno. “It’s a chance to bring the whole Rotary community together to celebrate what we’ve accomplished over the past year. It’s a way to thank everyone who has supported us as a donor, a volunteer, as a dinner speaker, and to provide a personal connection with all the people and organizations their efforts have helped, who, of course, will be invited as well. We’re also going to have a lot of fun! We’ll provide great food, music, and for the highlight of evening the we’ll pull the Key to the Village raffle winner.”
“We’re very excited about this event,” said Bongiorno. “The initial response has been overwhelmingly positive. I can see the Key to the Village being an annual event for at least the next twenty years!”
